The Balmoral armchair has all the hallmarks of classic Lloyd Loom furniture - the simple, uncluttered lines, the smooth woven fabric, the graceful elegance. In fact, everything you need to add some old fashioned chic styling to your living room or conservatory. This stunning chair has a tall back and a skirt, which goes almost to the floor, to create a grand look. It also has foam padding under the seat so you can enjoy your Balmoral chair in extra comfort.
Dating back to 1917, Lloyd Loom is the revolutionary patented method for manufacturing wicker like material originally intended for use on baby carriages! Kraft paper is twisted and wrapped around wire, then this ‘thread’ is woven into the Lloyd Loom fabric. This man made material is smooth, strong and consistent, unlike natural cane and rattan. Highly skilled craftspeople upholster the weave onto steam bent beech frames. Traditional paper braiding is then applied to finish the weave before it is dipped into glue and dried for added strength.
This chair is available in a range of stylish colours and finishes, which are hand applied by skilled sprayers:
Paint: A matt finish that makes a bold statement and adds colour to any room. The paint is environmentally sound, highly durable and easy to repair.
Stain: A semi-transparent finish that allows you to see the weave and looks great alongside wooden furniture. The different stains provide varied levels of tinted colour.
