Question from Tom: Asked on 12/10/2025 What temperature does the bottom reach? Is it below 100C (I.e. you don’t need a constructional hearth under it for building regs)
Hi Tom, it is an electric log burner, so the base does not get hot enough to require a constructional hearth. You can place it on a standard non-combustible surface. Thank you.
Question from Grace: Asked on 30/09/2025 Can a shelf be placed above this / would it be safe to have a wooden shelf above?
Hi Grace,Yes, you can safely mount a shelf above the AmberGlo AGL063 electric stove because it is electric and directs heat downward. The main concern is long-term discoloration or warping from constant moderate heat. You must confirm the manufacturer’s minimum vertical clearance (or leave a significant gap, e.g., 100mm+) and verify that the temperature beneath the shelf remains safe during use. Thanks!
